For various weeks has intensified in america and to a lesser extent the rest of the world, the debate on the bill is introduced in Congress to combat piracy.

This law known as "SOPA" ("Stop Online Piracy Act"), as amended by the House of Representatives, and "pipe" ("PROTECT IP Act"), as amended by the Senate, is being rejected by large and small Internet corporations. On Wednesday more than 10,000 internet sites have joined the online protest against this law. The initiative was organized by www.sopastrike.com page.

Organizations like Google, Wikipedia, Reddit, Wordpress, Mozilla, Amazon, eBay, Twitter, among others, have shown their opposition to this project that seeks to regulate the net.

One example is , if you visit the Wikipedia, in its English version, we see that there's no content, this site has joined the initiative "blackout" promoted by the business "Fight for the Future", and seeks the deactivation of web sites for twenty four hours in protest.

The measure "PIPA" will be subject to debate and vote in the Senate starting next January 24, as "SOPA" will be subjected to a preliminary vote, yet key to the Judicial Committee of the House of Representatives next month.

Proponents of the project argue that this law is crucial to combat Internet piracy of movies, videos, music and other content protected by intellectual rights and to protect customers , businesses and jobs.

The bill enjoys broad assistance from the enjoyment industry, like Hollywood, pharmaceutical corporations and publications, as Silicon Valley corporations have turned against him.

The White House opposes the measure in its present form on grounds that such businesses can raise claims against cyber and damage legitimate businesses, as well as disregarding the right to freedom of expression.
